Wolfratshausen, Germany, June 2026 – SmartRay, a leading provider of high‑precision 3D sensors and inline metrology solutions, today announced the launch of the ECCO X 050 and ECCO X 200, two new sensors that further extend the versatility and performance of the ECCO X sensor series. Designed for speed, robustness, and measurement certainty, the new models address a broad range of industrial inspection applications, from highly compact electronic components to large structural assemblies.
Both sensors leverage the proven ECCO X technology platform, offering scan rates of up to 40 kHz, profiles with up to 4,096 points, and throughput of up to 163 million 3D points per second, enabling reliable inline inspection at high production speeds.
ECCO X 050: High‑Precision Inspection for Compact Components
The ECCO X 050 is optimized for applications requiring exceptional accuracy in confined spaces. With its compact design, mid‑range field of view, and micron‑level resolution, the sensor delivers outstanding repeatability and precision for inline metrology tasks where even the smallest deviations matter.
Typical industries and applications include:
- Consumer Electronics – 3D inspection of small, complex components and housings
- Connector Inspection – Precise measurement of pin positions, coplanarity, insertion depth, and geometry in electrical and electronic connectors
The ECCO X 050 is typically supplied with a 450 nm brilliant blue laser in Laser Class 3R.
Laser Class 2 is available on request, depending on application and regulatory requirements.
ECCO X 200: Large Field‑of‑View Measurement for Demanding Environments
Designed for large components and extended measurement distances, the ECCO X 200 enables fast, accurate inspection across wide fields of view without compromising data quality. Its robust, IP67‑rated housing makes it ideally suited for harsh industrial environments.
Typical industries and applications include:
- Battery Cell Connectors – Inline inspection of battery cell and module interconnects as well as large current‑carrying structures
- Steel and Welding Applications – Reliable 3D measurement of weld seams, seam geometry, and material transitions
- Automotive Industry – Inspection of body‑in‑white structures, assemblies, and large stamped or welded components
- Rail and Transportation – Precision measurement of large parts and structural elements in rail and heavy‑industry applications
The ECCO X 200 is supplied with a 660 nm laser in Laser Class 3R. Laser Class 2 configurations are available on request.
One ECCO X Platform – Scalable and Future‑Ready
Both ECCO X 050 and ECCO X 200 share the same ECCO X platform architecture, offering:
- Gigabit Ethernet connectivity
- Advanced trigger and encoder support for reliable inline synchronization
- Industrial certifications and IP67 enclosure protection
This common platform approach simplifies integration and allows manufacturers to standardize their inspection solutions across different applications and production lines.
